Hi, my name is Liubov
I’m an watercolor artist from Ukraine, now living in Warsaw, Poland. My work explores how a person becomes themselves: through memory, the sense of home, and the inner work that shapes a life. After more than a decade in book illustration, I’m now develop my own body of painting, most recently the series Tending: Notes on Becoming, built around a female figure, gardens, birds, and the archetypes of classic literature.
Illustration is where my visual language was formed. Over ten years I created watercolor illustrations for children’s books, among them the editions of “The Secret Garden” and “The Wind in the Willows” (more than seventy original paintings for each), the book “Wonder Shell” (around thirty watercolor illustrations); I am currently completing the illustrations for “The Nutcracker”. “The Secret Garden” was a finalist for Ukraine’s “Book of the Year 2018”, and the edition was reprinted after completely selling out. Across more than ten children’s books and a two-year collaboration with leading magazines, I learned to carry emotion, narrative, and atmosphere in a single image: the foundation everything in my painting now rests on.

2025 - Selected as an artist for the upcoming FabrianoInAcquarello exhibition with my art work "Sertse, vkryte synim i zhovtym (The Heart, Covered by Yellow and Blue)".
2024 - Participated in the "Rare Plants of the World" exhibition with my botanical artworks"Hibiscus tiliaceus" and "Amherstia nobilis," organized by the Society of Ukrainian BotanicalArtists (SUBA), Ukraine.
2024 - The book "The Secret Garden" , featuring my original watercolor illustrations, was republished due to a completely sold-out edition.
2023 - The book “Wonder Shell”, written by John Harbour, published by Orsorum, USA
2022 - Illustrated the book "The Wind in the Willows" by Kenneth Grahame, comprising more than70 original watercolor illustrations, published by Nebo Booklab Publishing, Ukraine.
2021 - Received an award from Rosa Gallery and a special edition watercolor box featuring my botanical artwork of "Geranium" at the Botanical Art Exhibition, Ukraine.
2020 - Awarded for "Composition and Artwork Technique" for my artwork "Common Milkweed"at the Botanical Art Exhibition, Ukraine.
2019 - Featured with my artwork "Protea" at the Botanical Art Exhibition, Ukraine.
2018 - The book "The Secret Garden," published by Nebo Booklab Publishing and featuring approximately 70 original watercolor illustrations by me, was honored as a finalist in the "Book ofthe Year 2018" award in Ukraine.
2017 - Selected as one of the 20 finalists for the FashionPlusArt exhibition celebrating the 20th Anniversary of ELLE at the Fashion Ukrainian Week, in collaboration with designer Bobkova.
2017 - Finalist in the International Biennale of Fashion Illustration IMAGO, Ukraine.
2016 - Participant in "222 Best Young Book Illustrators" and "The Great Big Book of FashionIllustration" by Martin Dawber, published by Pavilion Books, UK.
